At last, a perfect evening for fishing, light winds for the night and the moon up, so it was like fishing in daylight. Due to the high tide being at 7.15pm it wasn’t worth going too far out so we stayed local again.

Lots of whitings and a nice cod of 5lb which was good to see so far up the Medway.

Adrian and Malcom brought along the sausages which went down nicely with a hot cup of tea. After a busy night again it was time to head in.

I’m not out skippering next Thursday. We’ve had to change it to Tuesday evening.

Will report on Monday for Sat/Sunday’s trip with hopefully some more coddies to report and the weather will still be kind.

All the best,

Sunday 22nd November

Trip cancelled due to high winds.

Saturday 21st November

Well, they got the weather spot on today – southerly about 15mph increasing to 25mph later. That suited us. We managed to get the day in out in the thames estury.

Jim’s crew all onboard by 6am and off we set for our fishing marks.

Down with the hook for the last of the ebb tide hoping to get some cod but only whitings & dogs were to be had.

I decided to have a move for the flood and get settled for a nice bit of tide run.

Once the tide started we were getting whitings & dogs straight away then Mark had a cod 6.5lb so a good start. Then we started to get better bites another cod of 8lb going to Roy – on my rod I might add.

It all went quiet for awhile then we had a few more codlings and whitings. Time soon flew past and with the wind increasing all the time it was time to head home.

So, not a bad day considering what the weather has been like this week.

Well, a windy evening out so back to fishing off St Marys Island.

Still plenty off whiting to be caught and a couple of dog fish.

Lug & squid is to be the bait that’s getting bites all the time.

Out again next thursday evening with spaces availabe as allways.

Sunday 15th November – Fishing Experience

Sunday 15th November

A change in the weather let us get out to our fishing marks with Ruslana’s crew again.

Fisrt stop we didnt stay long because there was too much weed about. It made fishing impossible.

Next stop was a good move straight into codlings up to 6lb as well as whitings and dogs. Once the tide started to ebb the fishing stopped.

Our next move was a good one too. First cast saw a skate of 8lb come on board followed by three more. More dogs and whitings too and one more cod; had a really good day.

All the fish were caught on whole squids – no worms needed. Nice to see a few skate around now. It may be if we had longer we could have seen a few more.

Full reports next week. All being well with the weather. Photos of todays catch will be in the photo gallery.

All the best, Skipper Steve
