Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What should we wear?
A. Whatever the weather, always bring extra warm clothing as it can get very cold out on the water. Also wet weather clothing for rain or just heavy spray. Plus a sun hat.
Q. Do we need to bring food?
A. If you want to eat - YES, bring a packed lunch and snacks. Cups of tea or coffee are supplied free on board, any other drinks please bring with you.
Q. Are children allowed on the trip?
A. Please discuss at time of booking - depends on age and use of safety equipment etc.
Q. Do we have to wear life jackets?
A. Not necessarily, however, if the captain requests the wearing of life jackets, they must be worn. If any children were allowed on the trip they WILL have to wear safety equipment ALL the time.
Q. Can we be picked up from another location, like at the Queenborough jetty?
A. Arrangements would have to be made at the time of booking to see if it would be possible. Timings start from Chatham.
Q. Is there anything else?
A. Yes. Any medical conditions that may impact on the trip must be declared (epileptic, physical disability, diabetic on insulin). These will not stop you going on the trip, however the captain must be aware of them, so as to handle any situation, and inform the coastguard in an emergency.
